About

I'm an experienced marketing executive and a freelance writer. I've developed content for several popular women’s publications including CafeMom, Disney’s Family.com and I have over 15 years of experience developing content for many national brands.

I am the author of a parenting humor book published by St. Martin’s Press in 2008. I wrote the book with co-author Molly Wendland.  The book was based on the blog I started in 2005, to chronicle my struggles and experiences as a slacker mom in a world of perfect mothers.

I'm a contributing writer for Huffington Post, I write for Deep South Moms, which is owned by Silicon Valley Moms Group LLC and has parenting blogs in 10 cities in the U.S. and just launched in Canada.

My work has been featured in four books besides my own, The Age of Conversation: Why Don’t People Get It, 42 Rules for Working Moms, The Internet Mommy and Kirtsy Takes a Bow.

I've been featured in the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Fox News, USA Today.  I was featured in the December 2009 issue of Her Life magazine.

Please feel free to connect with me online. My LinkedIn profile is here. You can find me on Twitter as @michellelamar.  I'm on Facebook, but I get annoyed by Facebook so I don’t visit that often.

I've done some speaking, most recently at Blissdom09, a popular conference for women in online media.

I'm married to a man they call Saint Timothy.  He is a TV and film producer/director. Tim travels a great deal for work...and some say, for his sanity.

We have two daughters, a teen and a tween. Our home is ruled by the wishes of two pugs and a yellow lab.
